Warehouse 2.0

About the project

Logistics tools shouldn’t feel like relics from the ’90s, especially when used by thousands of employees, from warehouse newbies to seasoned managers.

This project modernized a suite of internal apps, transforming clunky, outdated systems into intuitive, accessible solutions. The goal was clear, to declutter interfaces, simplify workflows, and ensure everyone, including vision-impaired or dyslexic employees, could navigate them with confidence.

Warehouse 2.0

Project execution

I started by working shifts in the warehouse alongside seasonal employees. Watching them struggle with confusing apps (and occasionally getting lost myself) revealed pain points no survey could capture. Simple tasks like inventory checks or order tracking were buried under layers of menus and complex interactions.
For existing tools, I led redesigns focused on clarity and accessibility: larger fonts, high-contrast palettes, and keyboard shortcuts for vision-impaired users. Dyslexic employees helped test typography and iconography to ensure readability.

New apps, like a real-time inventory tracker, were designed in collaboration with SAP developers. We broke components into reusable “atomic” pieces (buttons, filters, data tables) so they could evolve as processes changed.
Nothing’s ever “done” in logistics—tools need to adapt as workflows shift. We set up continuous feedback loops with team leads and seasonal workers, treating every update as a chance to simplify further.
